P-Cymene

P-Cymene is an organic compound with a spicy, aromatic odor. It is found naturally in several plants, including cumin and thyme. The chemical formula of p-cymene is C10H14. It is extracted from the dipentene on the reactions of dehydrogenation and disproportionation by a catalyst. It is also known as cymene which is a naturally occurring aromatic compound. It is insoluble in water but is miscible with diethyl ether and ethanol.

It uses of P-Cymene as a flavor and fragrance ingredient. It is mostly used in the food and beverage industry to add a spicy, aromatic flavor to products such as meat, fish, and sauces. It  is also used in the cosmetic industry to add a spicy, aromatic scent to products such as lotions, perfumes, and soaps.
